Sacred Union in Raleigh, N.C.
One of the event organizers, Sandra Pope, will write on this blog and fill us in on the details of the Magdalene gathering. There are so many wonderful women in the south who were anxious to hear Margaret speak about our own "Bride and Beloved in Exile" and her return within us all. I can't wait myself to hear how it went and who was there.
Back here in Los Angeles I've decided to mind my own garden and prepare for a new "story cycle" of The Magdalene Circle. I'm reminded by Jungian Analyst Jean Shinoda Bolen, author of Goddesses in Everywoman and many other books on the Feminine, that "circles are vehicles for social transformation. A proliferation of circles has the potential to become a force for social justice by bringing feminine values of relationship and interdependency into a culture of hierarchy and dominance through power."
The new cycle of Magdalene Circle will follow along the chapters of Mary Magdalene: The Way of the Heart. Some of the chapter/lesson titles are "It Was Foretold", "I Thought She Was a Prostitute From Magdala", "Why We Need The Bride", "The Sacred Container, The Alabaster Jar", and "The Special Kiss". For those of you who have read all of Margaret Starbird's books and wonder what a Magdalene Circle will provide, it's the "Spoken Meditations" and the sharing that create ever stronger bonds with the Sacred Union and make the circle concept work. We discuss Magdalene's stories as they live within our own life and our own experience.
For Los Angeles readers who are interested in the next Circle, you can get in touch with me at joanenorton@gmail.com
On April 22, 2008 I will be interviewed by Lisa Osborne on www.lisa.fm as part of her Oprah Book Club. We'll be talking about Chapter 8 of Eckhart Tolle's New Earth book. I also spoke about Chapter 2 and it's on her "Oprah Book Club Podcast" section. I hope I can add "the feminine touch of women's wisdom" to the book's concepts.
Peace in Our Time,
Joan

Hi
By the way thanks Joan! I read what happenned at the airport. It felt like the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy meeting 2 composities of our feminine good and bad witches!! A boat without oars, planes without wings with no one to board.!! Isn't there no place like home?
Cheers, Goddesses!

So true, Catherine, I said that very thing to myself when I got back . I really admire the ease Margaret S. has in traveling to so many Magdalene events.....I think she's got angel wings helping. Thanks for commenting...Joan
