Bloodline the Movie opens in Los Angeles
The audience was packed and the questions never stopped after the movie. There was lots of applause and even some standing ovation. One of the producers said that in New York the attendance was the highest ever for an opening in that theater. People are obviously turned on to the question of Jesus' Sacred Union with Mary Magdalene. Bruce Burgess and Rene Barnett made it clear in the Q&A after the film that"the bloodline question isn't important at all", it's Jesus' spiritual message that we are all "Divinity within" that is important. Bruce then handed the microphone to Renee so she could better articulate that the raising up of Mary Magdalene as Divine Feminine will bring us all along with her. We all benefit from a Feminine made Sacred.

All the women I know from 3-plus years of the Magdalene Circle in Los Angeles are intuitive-feeling women, interested in the "Way of the Heart" of Mary Magdalene and Jesus. The hallmark of many "Magdalene women" are the feelings of love for their immediate world. They don't need an adventure treasure hunt for relics which seem to prove the Sacred Marriage. And there's always a sinking feeling for intuitive women that the world doesn't recognize or value intuitional findings until there's "hard evidence". Never mind the artwork, the visions, and the dreamwork of women saying "The Magdalene is returning", many won't believe it until there's a carbon dated body. Oh well, it's an old story for women. But these filmmakers recognize that the greater story than the possible "proofiness" is that we are reevaluating Jesus's spiritual message and discovering the "within" of divinity. Margaret Starbird says in the film that "wouldn't it be great if the Second Coming were a reevaluating" of Jesus' story and message.
Just like at the first screening I went to, the most angry question was "why didn't you immediately call a university about this discovery?". Both times it was asked in a truly angry way, not just with curiosity. Bruce was direct in saying that it's more in the history of finding important relics that it's just people scratching away in the dirt or desert who find things, not necessarily museums or universities. He went on to say that the French government is going to participate in an excavation of the tomb cave this summer. Until then, the location is really a secret, apparently, that Ben Hammott and the filmmakers keep. Of course there's a whole interesting history of fraud and scamming at Rennes-le-Chateau that he is aware of and even leaves it an open question that this will turn out to be a scam too. But as I've said, it doesn't really matter, it's the question of Sacred Union that's important and the film keeps that question alive.
I'm late to the party about relics and Rennes-le-Chateau, in fact I haven't read Holy Blood, Holy Grail. As you know, my experience is personal and visionary . The Mary Magdalene Within is my story. I was intrigued to learn that Ben Hammott discovered the tomb cave of (possibly) Mary Magdalene in 1999, which was a couple years after I had my "visitation". He did the same thing I did, something like wandered around not knowing what to do with it for several years. Now I'm finding myself curious about Rennes-le-Chateau and it's possiblity as a kind of holy temple burial ground area for original Christianity, and I've discovered a couple of wonderful websites to learn from. One is www.benhammott.com and the other is www.andrewgough.co.uk
Bruce Burgess and Renee Barnett named their production company 1244 Productions for the year the Cathars acted in such bravery for defense of their beliefs in the Sacred Union. They are obviously "regular folk" who have become initiated onto the path of search for the Holy Grail that leads to the discovery that She is inside us all.
Bloodline will make it to DVD so everyone can see it, and in the mean time , they said they've got probable dates in Chicago and Washington state.
And let's not forget that we can hear our own Margaret Starbird talk about Sacred Union in her books anytime we want, and we can see her here in Los Angeles in October at the Gaia Festival www.gaiafestival.com

Hi Joan,
sounds like the opening was a huge success! I'm really excited about going to see the film. I'll be in LA on Weds, 5/21 if you want to try to meet up in the evening for appetizers or something.
And thank you for the Gaia Festival plug -- at which the fabulous Joan Norton will be facilitating her interactive and integrative Magdalene circles. I can't wait to be activated by Magdalene energy.
Lots of love,
Kris

Joan,
Thank you for this enlightening article that clearly reminds us the over-riding importance of this discovery is the Sacred Union and the reclaiming of the Sacred Feminine, both of which come down to the idea of Love. I gave a talk at a conference in Phoenix this weekend and this is coming in strong from all areas. These people were New Age and Christian, not my usual Pagan Oriented or Women's Studies audiences and they are getting it. They are starved for it. We call it different things - they actually call it the Christ Consciousness but they mean the love of the sacred feminine and divine masculine. They don't see Christ as being a part of the religious institution of the Church. They talk about vibrational levels when we might say we've become aware -- semantics aside, many, many ARE AWAKENING to this balance, wholeness and oneness that is at the heart of this wonderful message. We all just have to keep doing what we do. BLESS YOU.

Thanks so much, Karen, and hurray to you for carrying the message of the Sacred Feminine into many different types of spiritual groups. I love it when there are "ah-ha" moments for people from different groups, when there's that moment of discovery that even though we use different vocabularies we are talking about the same thing. Love by any other name is still love. There was a moment in Bloodline when they opened the box of relics and there was a feeling of awe in the two men, and one of them just wanted to hold the cup he felt Christ had held. The awe felt so genuine, so permeated with this"treasure hunter's" love. It doesn't even matter if the relics aren't what is claimed, the belief was palpable and the awe was palpable and the love in the awe was palpable.
By the way, to anyone reading this, be sure and put Karen's "Voices of the Sacred Feminine" on your "must listen" list, she has the most fantastic roster of leaders in the women's spirituality community on her show every week. See more at www.karentate.com .

Thanks for the update on the film, Joan. Now I really look forward to see it when it comes to Chicago.
It sounds like the message got to them. The team set out to "prove" something, and during the investigation towards a tangible proof, they found that the message behind it all is the thing that really matters. And the only important thing we actually really lost in the process of time.
Since we now know that "the process of time" for losing the message was largely organized by the Catholic Church, I think the next question is; Why did the Church find it so threatening? Believing in the holy union between man and woman is hardly threatening to the core of an intricate organization. In 1244AD the church was considered a country owning most of Italy, and the pope was in constant communication with the kings of Europe. The extinction of the Cathars and other "heretics" in the Languedoc area, a section which had once been its own country of Aquitania between France and Spain, was a very political campaign over land and influence. But it was also over knowledge. And the Cathars took their secret with them to their torturous graves.
They claimed to have the Gospel written by Jesus himself. They knew alchemy. They knew how to use the human body as a communication device over distance. They knew invisible techniques that could be used under the nose of the inquisitors, techniques which required self discipline, intuition and love. And once you had found the balance you were very powerful. Unfortunately, the inquisitors didn't understand. They were looking for a physical thing that would account for the Cathars powers, a magical word, a secret stash of gold, or a device of some sort.
Are we still looking for a physical "thing", or are we getting ready to embrace that there are powerful techniques that require nothing but knowledge of ourselves and the inherent abilities in our human bodies.
Wencke.

Thanks for this, Wencke, it's so interesting. Can you share some more about the Cathars knowledge about using the body as communication devices over a distance? Thanks! Joan

Hi C.A., I think the best way is to call your local art house type theater and tell them you want to see it. They will probably respond if enough people call . Otherwise, you can get alot of the information, film footage, blog discussions and such at www.bloodlinethemovie.com and also www.benhammott.com . He's the treasure hunting fellow who "walked the land" of Rennes-le-Chateau and began finding clues from the priest Sauniere, and his website is very, very complete and informative. If you get hooked on the whole R-L-C mystery, here's another website that's great. www.andrewgough.co.uk . And Bloodline will be on DVD one of these days. xoJoan
