Margaret Starbird's Magdalene Rosary
Margaret Starbird's Magdalene Rosary has been the source of so much of my writing on this blog and I know it's going to go on and on....there are 7 Gospel Mysteries of the Magdalene and 7 Legendary Mysteries of the Magdalene. I felt that I should tell Margaret's story of inspiration and revelation again and give the prayers again.
Here is her story as told in 14 Steps To Awaken the Sacred Feminine: Women in the Circle of Mary Magdalene.
"One night about fifteeen years ago I fell asleep with my traditional five-decade rosary in my hand. I had been praying intensely to the Virgin Mary for one of my daughters who was suffering a health issue. During the night, my tossing and rolling around caused my rosary to slip out of my hand and to twist and break, and when I woke up the next morning, I found that the rosary had rearranged itself into seven groups of seven beads (heptade), while one bead had fallen off entirely and was lying separate from the rest of the rosary on the bedsheet. Gradually it dawned on me that I was being shown a new rosary based on the number seven, a "perfect" number associated with the Holy Spirit and the Divine Feminine."
Margaret had a friend fashion for her a new rosary with 7 groups of 7 beads, which she discribes this way, "The Magdalene Rosary looks like the traditional rosary honoring Mary, the Blessed Mother of Jesus, in every respect except that there are only 7 beads in each group of prayers in the "circle" (instead of 10) and there are seven groups of prayers (rather than 5)- a total of 49 prayers rather than 50."
Margaret goes on to say, "During the recital of the heptades of the Magdalene Rosary one will want to contemplate the milestones associated with her life. The first series of 'mysteries' contain seven events from the Christian Gospels, while the second series is based on legend and tradition of her life in exile."

Here are the prayers said on the beads of the Magdalene Rosary:
1. Prayer to the Source of Life
O Mystery of Life, Birther of all that is,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors,
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil. Amen
2. Magdalene Prayer (repeated on each of the seven beads)
Dear Mary Magdalene, love incarnate,
Sacred Vessel, Holy Grail,
Chosen were you from all women,
And blessed is your union with Jesus.
Dearest Bride and Beloved of Christ,
Show us the Way of the heart.
3.Glory to the Source, the Force, and the Presence
Glory be to the Source, and to the Force,
And to the loving Presence.
As it was in the Beginning, is now and forever shall be,
World without end. Amen

Hi Shiela, Thanks very much for letting me know you like 14 Steps To Awaken the Sacred Feminine: Women in the Circle of Mary Magdalene . My fondest wish is that it be practical and usable and readable and share-able. That's what the Magdalene Circle idea is about. I probably can't count how many times I've read Margaret's books. Every single time, without fail, that I go to one of them for something specific I get involved in the whole book again. She's really a gift to our times.
