Please Make Her Your Own Mary Magdalene

The whole point of  every civilization's spiritual stories is to make them your own. That's one way civilizations change and evolve, that's how religions stay pertinent, and that's the way it works on the inside of us. At different times of life we use different aspects of important stories to affirm our personal experience and to teach ourselves. We have the amazing opportunity right now at the beginning of a new era to  do this with the stories of Mary Magdalene and her sacred companion Jesus. We have the chance to save Her from orthodoxy.  We have the chance to allow each other to love one aspect of  Mary Magdalene and to not care so much about another.  Magdalene Circles support an individual relationship to  Mary Magdalene, to the woman and her spiritual story.  When you start your own circle you will very quickly discover  this and you will likely grow from it, as I have.

I think it's been surprising to Margaret Starbird  that some women have been so adamently against the concept of Mary Magdalene as  bride of Jesus Christ, and not for the reasons you'd suspect. Naturally the orthodox  Christians who have 2,000 years of patriarchial domination do not want to hear about sharing the role of divinity, but I'm not talking about them.  I'm talking about women whose Mary Magdalene stories and teachings  understand Her as a mystic , a priestess, a very highly evolved spiritual soul.  As we collectively open our minds to our  own mystical abilities we must have stories which reflect mysticism and Mary Magdalene  does that for us too. "The Woman Who Knew The All", the woman who knew the secret teachings of Jesus well enough to give instruction to the apostles , and certainly the woman who had  the "enlightenment" experience of  seeing the resurrected Christ....surely this women is a mystic. But it's sometimes those of us who gravitate towards Mary Magdalene as mystic who then have a difficult time relating to her as Bride of Christ, as a human woman with a human husband. But how else can the full humanity of God be expressed?   In my opinion, it's a problem to identify Mary Magdalene as "only" one thing or another, only one part of her story or another part of her story.

Each woman in your Magdalene Circle will bring her own interests and curiosities about Mary Magdalene's stories, her own books she's read, her own dreams she's had, and her own direction for personal study. She'll add to the group experience this way, and she'll certainly add to the template I've created in  the Magdalene Circle book.

So, let's get into circle with each other and share everything we're thinking and feeling  about Mary Magdalene and her  stories. Let's each find the piece of her story which is most useful and most interesting to us right now.The only way to do that is to tell her stories to each other, to take them into our inner beings and ponder them in the same way we've done with stories of Jesus.

Dear Mary Magdalene, love incarnate,
Sacred Vessel, Holy Grail,
Chosen were you from all women,
And blessed is your union with Jesus.
Dearest Bride and Beloved of Christ,
Show us the Way of the heart.

Hi Joan....enjoyed the information this week so much, sorry took so long to get a blog entry..especially digested the information about making Mary's presence known more fully in our lives and sharing it with others..to prevent her from getting lost to anonymity again..as those of us who have accepted the obvious evidence that she is Christ's bride, I think it is now a joyful obligation that we must shoulder...to help others to understand and share in the spiritual energy..Magdelene circles are a promising venture...doing all I can to start one...blessings..p.s..had to close Facebook account for now,,,virus threat concerns...: )..

Hi Sheila,   I'm sorry to hear  about your Facebook page getting virus infected. I hope it gets straightened out soon.
Thank you for  what you said about not letting Mary Magdalene and her Sacred Union drift into anonymity again.... that's a chilling thought. I have felt for a long time that this  time will be different because women are strong and capable to  stand up for our own truths. And of course it helps alot that there's no  Inquisition. We're free to believe what we want. Thanks for being there! xoJoan
