Yes, Mary Magdalene has awakened as a new consciousness in peoples minds. Proof of Her presence are showing up in the news, the papyrus presented be Karen King, the new interest by young people who wants to know her story, the interest from older people who know that what they have been taught doesn't tell the whole story.
A new historical novel is out. I wrote a historical novel called "Rituals in Sacred Stone", the story of the life of Mary Magdalene. It tells of her being married to Jesus and how they worked together as spiritual technicians. As in the picture above, she was an herbalist, well versed in the cultivation of rare plants. They were used for medicinal purposes and many were specialized for perfumes, which she became famous for. Her favorite was the Tuberose, which is called Maryam in the dialect they spoke in Provence at the time. She also grew herbs that were used in rituals and for very secret initiations. She was educated in the temples in Egypt and Ephesus and had a different perspective on religion than what we have today. As a priestess, she knew how to WORK with the gods, not worship the gods. Her work is described in detail in the book, and in particular her involvement in the crucifixion.

Thanks for providing a fabulous blog. Your work has been an inspiration for my own research.
I agree about the eggs but I do love that this story exists in the Christian tradition because it shows Magdalene as a disciple and teacher in her own right. The Eastern Church was much more respectful towards her than western Catholicism and honored her form the beginning.

Comment on The Bride is Coming..The Bride is Coming!

Hail, Magdalene lovers!
I thought you might be very interested in Mark Adamo's upcoming opera, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, which will be premiering in June at the San Francisco Opera. His libretto-written after five years of research and deep inner searching- draws on both Canonical and Gnostic sources and is prominently filled with references to the Song of Solomon. You can read more about it on my website, www.kayleenasbo.com, as well as hear more about it on a webinar I will be offering on May 1. It is such a fascinating time of collective creativity around this extraordinary woman!

Comment on The Kiss

Why are people so polarized around the subject of Jesus having intimate relations with a woman?
And thank YOU so much for your kind words! It's a process, I also find myself trying to see the good and powerful qualities of the Virgin so as not to discount that part of myself. I often think of Demeter's daughter who was both Maiden (Kore) and Queen (Persephone). But right now I think I need more Queen!

Joan's post and your response to it are just the re-orientation I need right now. Thank you so much.

I also took your book off my shelf and am finding the prayers especially helpful.

Much gratitude,
Your wonderful book really carries "the Queen" so well.

It set me thinking about matters of my own life. It appears that when I have sort of too much "Virgin" going on, life will tell me and I will experience that cruelty you write about. But then I have the option to change my thinking and decide to take another view, another road.

It's really in the "I'm not going to take it anymore" category, and then I seem to make active choices that exercise my power of authority (the Queen). The challenge is to retain compassion while making these choices to build my throne, my crown, my scepter. Symbols of power they are, built into the image of the Queen. May we all take our rightful, powerful, and compassionate places in our beautiful world.

Love, Jen
Jennifer Reif
"The Holy Book of Mary Magdalene"
